Overview
The V1 product boundary is local-first: no account, no ads, no server-side service, no automatic manual lookup, and no AI processing. Appliance records, serial numbers, photos, delivery orders, invoices, receipts, warranty cards, manuals, notes, and export contents should not leave the device unless you choose to export or share them.
Not in the V1 product boundary unless you choose to export or share it. Appliance records, serial numbers, photos, manuals, delivery orders, invoices, receipts, warranty cards, notes, and export contents should stay local.
Information you enter
Start with the few facts you have. A name and one useful detail are enough. You can add the room, make, model, serial number, purchase date, warranty date, notes, spare parts, consumables, and service interval when they are available.
Hearthfile should treat missing optional fields as "not captured yet", not as a broken record.
plate, sticker, or type-plate photos
delivery-order, invoice, receipt, proof-of-purchase, or warranty-card photos or PDFs
manuals
installation photos
service receipts
Use reminders for service dates, warranty expiries, filters, batteries, bulbs, belts, and other recurring parts. A reminder date is still useful even when notification permission has not been granted.
Use consumable fields to answer practical questions like which filter, cartridge, belt, or bulb to buy next time.
Useful examples include model numbers, serial numbers, purchase dates, warranty dates, invoice or receipt files, manual files or links, plate or sticker photos, filter sizes, service dates, service notes, costs, providers, and replacement timing.
Storage and sharing
The V1 product boundary is local-first: no account, no ads, no server-side service, no automatic manual lookup, and no AI processing. Appliance records, serial numbers, photos, delivery orders, invoices, receipts, warranty cards, manuals, notes, and export contents should not leave the device unless you choose to export or share them.
Not in the V1 product boundary unless you choose to export or share it. Appliance records, serial numbers, photos, manuals, delivery orders, invoices, receipts, warranty cards, notes, and export contents should stay local.
The planned V1 includes CSV and PDF-style handover export surfaces. Export is for practical household reference, not legal disclosure or insurance claim filing.
Attach Documents And Photos
Use document and photo fields for files you already control, such as:
If a file is missing later, keep the record and mark the document state clearly instead of hiding the problem.
Export is for practical household use: service calls, moving, selling, or sharing appliance facts with someone helping maintain the home. Exported records can include item facts, service notes, document state, spare parts, consumables, and reminder dates.
Hearthfile export is not legal disclosure, warranty or Lemon Law advice, insurance advice, repair instructions, or safety guidance.
Support requests
If you contact product support at `support@dartscreative.com`, the email address and details you send are used to answer the support request.
What Hearthfile does not use
Hearthfile does not manage renovation projects, home finances, insurance claims, contractors, smart-home devices, household chores, landlord workflows, AI repair advice, or broad property management.
You can attach a manual file or save a manual link, but automatic manual lookup is out of scope for V1.
Hearthfile stores records and reminders. It does not provide repair, safety, warranty-rights, Lemon Law, insurance, legal, or code-compliance advice.
